A twelve-week cohort, not a video course
This is live study with a group that stays together for the whole term, led by Shrey Bhardwaj. Konnakol rewards that format: it is a spoken language, and languages are learned by speaking them with other people in real time rather than by watching someone else speak.
What konnakol actually is
The spoken rhythmic language of South Indian music - every rhythm has syllables, and a player recites a phrase before playing it. Learning it does something unusual: it improves your time on every instrument at once, because the improvement is happening in you rather than in your hands.
Speak it, then play it
The order is deliberate. You say a phrase until it is fluent, and only then bring it to the instrument - which is why konnakol students tend to arrive at rock-solid subdivision faster than players who counted their way there.
