Every city has them, and almost none are listed anywhere useful. This is a community directory of the jams actually running - open jams, song-based jams, jazz jams and open mics - kept current by the people who go to them.
Find one near you
Search your town and see what is on: what kind of jam it is, where it meets and when. The aim is to give you enough to walk in the door the first time without knowing anyone there.
Add the one you run or attend
Anyone can add a jam. A directory of live music only stays accurate if the people in the room maintain it, so listing, rating and correcting are open rather than reserved for staff.
Know the tunes before you arrive
Jams have repertoire, and not knowing it is the main reason people never come back. Each listing can carry the tunes that come up regularly, so you can learn a few beforehand and actually play when you get there.
